Located on the southern bank of the Oujiang River estuary, Longwan district is one of four urban districts of Wenzhou, East China's Zhejiang province. It borders Dongtou district in the northeast, Rui'an city in the south, and Lucheng and Ouhai districts in the west. It is opposite Yueqing city and Yongjia county across the Oujiang River.

The Ningbo-Taizhou-Wenzhou Expressway and the Coastal Expressway under planning both pass through the district.
