China has further expanded its visa-free transit policy, extending the maximum amount of time foreigners are allowed to stay to 10 days from the previous 72 or 144 hours. The policy now applies to 60 ports across China, including the Yiwu Airport in Jinhua, Zhejiang province.
Yiwu, a county-level city in Jinhua, has recently become a canvas of color due to its beautiful metasequoias.
In recent days, Nanwangxi village and Yazhijie village in Chi'an town have become magnets for tourists, drawing them to two enchanting "fairytale forests".
The metasequoia trees undergo a stunning transformation from November to December as their leaves shift from emerald green to golden yellow and finally to orange-red. This spectacle, set against the backdrop of mountains and waters, is like a moving oil painting, with visitors flooding in to witness it, especially on weekends with clear skies.
In 2022, the two undeveloped forests saw the introduction of two camping sites, which not only allow visitors to engage in more interesting activities but also provide essential amenities to enhance the overall visitor experience.
Nanwangxi village welcomed the Yexing Wangxi Garden project. "Previously, we focused on outdoor weddings and team-building activities. Aiming to attract more families, we decided to build a bridge for taking photos and introduced cafe and tea-making activities," said Jin Qifei, manager of the project.

A cultural tourism event started in the two metasequoia forests on Dec 14, featuring a range of activities like children's fashion shows, music performances, dance displays, markets, and barbecues.
The event lasts until the end of December. Everyone is invited to come and be immersed in this winter wonderland.
