Sanjiang Primary School in Shengzhou county-level city, Shaoxing, has transformed its 15-minute recess into a structured period for physical and personal growth.
The school's playground now features dedicated activity zones, including areas for rock climbing, jump rope, and hopscotch, fostering an active and engaging environment for students.
A rock-climbing wall, designed to mimic natural cliffs, stands as a centerpiece of the playground. Students, equipped with proper safety gear, engage in climbing exercises that enhance both physical coordination and mental resilience.
Through repeated practice, they develop agility, problem-solving skills, and confidence in overcoming challenges.
Recognized as a nationally designated climbing-focused school, Sanjiang Primary integrates the sport into its broader educational framework.
Beyond physical training, climbing serves as a platform for cultivating perseverance and strategic thinking. Students learn to adapt when faced with missing footholds, reassess approaches when balance is lost, and support their peers through moments of difficulty.
The program exemplifies the school's commitment to holistic development, equipping students with skills that extend beyond the climbing wall and into their everyday lives, said a representative of the school.
