Shaoxing's Shangyu district launched its first intelligent unmanned cleaning robots on Feb 26.
This marks the city's debut in AI-powered urban sanitation and represents Infore Environment Technology Group Co's first fully autonomous city service initiative.
At the unveiling, the AI-driven cleaning robots — designed for silent and smooth operation — were introduced as the new "digital guardians" of urban cleanliness.
Equipped with laser radar perception and AI-powered path planning, these robots can autonomously navigate, clean along edges, and dispose of waste, efficiently handling up to 20 different tasks. Each unit is capable of replacing four to six sanitation workers daily.
Following the signing ceremony, the robots embarked on their inaugural cleaning route along the riverbanks, operating at just 40 decibels. By integrating cutting-edge AI technology, the project aims to make urban spaces cleaner, smarter, and more efficient.
