The 2025 China Spring Orchid Collection concluded on Feb 16 in Keqiao district, Shaoxing, Zhejiang province, attracting thousands of orchid enthusiasts.

The three-day event featured 1,900 premium orchid varieties and a bustling marketplace with more than 300 stalls — a 28 percent increase from last year. Average sales per stall increased by more than 50 percent over last year, reflecting the growing demand for quality orchids.

This year, the fair took place in Lizhu town, known as the "Hometown of China's Spring Orchids". The event featured dedicated sections including an orchid exhibition, an orchid boutique and a flower trade zone, as well as a series of cultural activities such as orchid lectures, a calligraphy exhibition and a music gathering.

A highlight of the fair was the selection of the "Spring Orchid King", along with numerous awards, including 15 special gold awards, 10 gold awards for cultivation, and 20 gold awards for spring orchids. Orchids from Keqiao district secured top honors, with local entries winning five special gold awards and several other prestigious prizes.

This year's edition also introduced a cultural innovation product category, and the spring orchid silk scarf series of Zhijiang College of Zhejiang University of Technology won the special gold award.

In recent years, Keqiao's Lizhu town has strengthened its reputation as a national orchid hub, launching initiatives such as the "Lizhu Orchid" public brand and the "China Orchid Valley" development project.
