Shaoxing in East China's Zhejiang province is strengthening policies, expanding platforms, hosting competitions, and enhancing services to cultivate a pool of international talent, Tide News reported on Jan 28.

Key initiatives include the Zhejiang (Shaoxing) High-Level Foreign Expert Innovation Zone and the "Zhuji Overseas Returnee Town".

The innovation zone currently hosts more than 40 top foreign experts from countries including France and Italy, along with 20 foreign-funded tech enterprises and 58 international projects.

Over the past nine years, the Shaoxing Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition has attracted talent from over 20 countries and regions. The event has drawn more than 2,200 entrepreneurial projects, with 130 winning accolades and 81 successfully setting up operations in the city.

To date, Shaoxing has amassed over 2,000 high-level foreign professionals.
