Students from the Digital Information School at Shaoxing Vocational Education Center recently visited the central warehouse of the time-honored brand Gu Yue Long Shan to promote traditional Shaoxing rice wine through e-commerce platforms.
This initiative aims to blend digital commerce with the preservation of Shaoxing's intangible cultural heritage.
During the visit, the students toured the central warehouse, gaining insights into the rich history, brewing techniques, and cultural significance of rice wine. Guided by professional livestream hosts and instructors, the students practiced their e-commerce skills and offered marketing advice to local businesses.
Combining elements of Shaoxing's cultural heritage, the students designed unique products, from limited-edition packaging to rice wine-related accessories, capturing them in photos and videos for online promotion. Their presentations on major e-commerce platforms brought attention to the legacy of Shaoxing's yellow rice wine.
"This experience allowed us to apply our e-commerce skills while promoting a special part of our hometown," said Lin Jiajia, a student from the e-commerce class. "It's something I feel truly proud of."
