The two-day Zhejiang International Health Care Industry Expo commenced at the Shaoxing International Convention and Exhibition Center on Oct 18.
As of the end of 2023, China's elderly population, aged 60 and above, surpassed 290 million, accounting for 21.1 percent of the total population. The current scale of China's silver economy is approximately 7 trillion yuan ($977.8 billion), with projections to reach 30 trillion yuan by 2035.
The expo features five major exhibition zones: Achievements Showcase, Happy Retirement, Health and Wellness, Joyful Living, and Enjoyable Life. Additionally, it includes two specialized markets focusing on elderly-friendly renovations and historical classic industries.
This year's expo brings together 185 leading enterprises in the silver economy sector, including over 30 international companies from countries such as Singapore, Japan, and Germany.
The exhibitors represent the full spectrum of the silver economy, covering institutional elderly care services, community and home-based elderly care services, elderly travel and leisure, senior products, and rehabilitation aids.
