Shaoxing's Keqiao triples export volume to France in H1
In the first half of 2024, Shaoxing's Keqiao achieved impressive foreign trade results, according to Shaoxing Customs.
From January to June, the district's exports reached 81.6 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 16.1 percent. Notably, exports to France soared to 1.28 billion yuan, marking a 259.7 percent increase.
The primary export categories included labor-intensive products, textiles, machinery, and plastic goods.
Textile trade, a cornerstone of local economy, remained stable, with textile exports reaching 54.43 billion yuan, up 4.5 percent. Exports to France in this category grew by 31.4 percent, totaling 322 million yuan.
The district also saw significant growth in exports of furniture, electrical equipment, auto parts, and sports goods. Sports equipment, in particular, experienced a 652.53 percent increase.
Authorities with Shaoxing Customs attributed Keqiao's strong export performance to the district's well-established industrial chains and the boost from the Paris Olympics.
