A special sports game for visually impaired people commenced in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province, on Aug 5.
"We organize these games every year to encourage visually impaired individuals to participate in sports, improve their physical health, and feel more integrated into society," said Dong Dazhai, chairman of the Shaoxing Visually Impaired Individuals' Association.
Twenty-four visually impaired athletes from across Shaoxing's districts formed six teams to compete in events such as jump rope and hula hoop, divided into men's and women's categories.
After intense competition, Zheng Jie from the Shengzhou county-level city claimed the women's jump rope title, while Yang Xinnan from Zhuji secured the men's title.
In the hula hoop competition, Zhang Haobin of the Xinchang team and Chen Ying of the Shengzhou team won the men's and women's championships, respectively.
"The hot weather didn't stop me from enjoying these games," said Zhang of the Xinchang team.
