Taiyas Sports Goods Co has been busy preparing equipment for the baseball competition at the Hangzhou Asian Games, local media reported on June 6.
After undergoing professional technical evaluation, the company has entered the final production stage and is preparing to deliver the equipment before the end of July.
Taiyas Sports Goods, founded in Taiwan province, relocated to Shengzhou county, Shaoxing in 2004. In addition to items such as baseballs, gloves, bats, and clothing, there are also products related to baseball training, competitions, and umpiring, including home plates, catcher's masks, protective gear, and umpire counters.
Chen Jingsen, the general manager, said that the company is a designated supplier of baseball and softball equipment for Major League Baseball in the United States as well as for Rawlings, a well-known US baseball equipment brand.
"For the baseball and softball events at the Hangzhou Asian Games, the company is responsible for the production of 30 different types of products, including home plates, pitcher's mounds, batting cages, pitching nets, field mats, and tools for field maintenance," Chen said.
Over 90 percent of the company's products are exported, and it collaborates with well-known baseball brands overseas. The proportion of domestic sales has gradually increased from 5 percent in previous years to 10 percent.
Chen has been utilizing the company's products and resources in recent years to contribute to the development of baseball in Shaoxing. His efforts include introducing coaches to schools and providing free baseball and softball equipment.
