Shaoxing girl included in national swimming team for Asian Games

The General Administration of Sport of China released the national team roster for the swimming events of the 19th Asian Games, which included Wu Qingfeng from Shaoxing, on June 30.
Wu was born in September 2003 in Shaoxing. In September 2018, she represented China in the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia. She won the silver medal in the women's 4x100m freestyle relay and the bronze medal in the women's 50m freestyle.
In September 2022, Wu qualified for the Tokyo Olympics and competed in the women's 50m and 100m freestyle individual events, as well as the women's 4x100m freestyle relay.
On September 25, 2022, the Chinese team secured seventh place in the women's 4x100m freestyle relay final at the Tokyo Olympics with a time of 3 minutes, 34.76 seconds. They broke their own Asian record and Wu swam the fourth leg in 52.9 seconds (53.23 seconds in the heats), a personal best.
Currently, Wu is undergoing intensive training and physical fitness tests at the General Administration of Sport of China to prepare for the upcoming games. The swimming events at the Hangzhou Asian Games will produce 41 gold medals.
