Three pieces of Yue Kiln celadon artwork created by Gu Shaobo, a representative inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage of Shaoxing Yue Kiln celadon firing techniques, have been selected as official merchandise catalog of the Hangzhou Asian Games, local media reported on July 1.

"I hope these celadon artworks bless the Asian Games and the athletes," said Gu, who also expressed hope that the works will draw more attention to Yue Kiln celadon.

In May 2011, the firing techniques of Yue Kiln celadon were listed as a representative national intangible cultural heritage item.

As a young inheritor of the techniques, Gu has been trying to revive the tradition of craftsmanship while innovating in vessel forms. He aims to integrate this traditional culture more effectively into the lives of people today, allowing more individuals to experience the ancient art form.
