The 2023 Beijing International Tea Expo, the Beijing Maliandao International Tea Culture Expo, and the Shaoxing Tea Cultural Festival (Shaoxing Tea Expo) will take place in Xicheng district, Beijing from June 9 to 12, event organizers said at a press conference on June 1.

Shaoxing in East China's Zhejiang province will be a guest of honor at the expos and festival.

Covering an exhibition area of nearly 26,000 square meters, the events feature sections for different regions including Xicheng, Shaoxing, and Taiwan. National exhibition areas for New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and other countries are also set up at the expos. Products on display include six major types of tea, tea utensils, and those used to deep process tea leaves and promote tea culture.

The Shaoxing exhibition area, comprising more than 30 leading local companies, will showcase eight public brands of the city and its districts and counties, such as Yueming, Dafo Longjing, and Pingshui Rizhu.

During the exhibition, Shaoxing governments will also hold five special promotion conferences. Performances with Shaoxing characteristics, including Yue Opera, tea songs and dances, and melodramas, will be featured at the conferences.

The Xicheng government will sign a cooperation agreement with the Shaoxing government to further strengthen cooperation in biomedicine, the digital economy, agricultural technology, and other aspects during the opening ceremony.

The expos are becoming a platform for tea enthusiasts and industry professionals to explore and appreciate the rich heritage of tea and promote cooperation and exchange in the tea industry.
