Keqiao seeks to improve lives of foreign merchants in China with policy briefing

The commerce bureau of Keqiao district in Shaoxing, East China's Zhejiang province on May 30 organized a policy briefing to further improve the local business environment for foreign merchants, give them a sense of belonging, and attract more foreign investors.

Representatives from the Keqiao bureaus of commerce, science and technology, public security and taxation, as well as other organizations, gave presentations on topics of concern to foreign merchants. These included invitation letters, educational opportunities for foreign children, work permits, visas, taxation, export tax refunds, and financial products for foreigners.

The event was participated in by 100 foreigners from 20 different countries. A South Korean who has been living in Keqiao for over 20 years said: "I really enjoy the place. Whether it's daily life or business activities, everything is very convenient here. The government services are especially excellent."

Keqiao has become an important hub for foreign investors in Zhejiang province. The district has attracted over 5,000 buyers from around the world. It is home to more than 1,600 representative offices of foreign companies and nearly 1,200 foreign-invested commercial enterprises.
