The highly anticipated 2023 National Rock Climbing Championships are scheduled to take place at the Yangshan Sport Climbing Center in Keqiao district, Shaoxing from May 29 to June 1.

The competition will see the participation of 21 teams from 19 regions, including Beijing, Chongqing, and Tibet autonomous region, bringing 120 high-level athletes.

The competition will feature a "three-in-one" format, serving as the inaugural National Rock Climbing Championships, the Asian Games Climbing Test Event, and the qualifying competition for the Hangzhou Asian Games National Speed Climbing Team.

The organizers have invited international-level judges and route setters accredited by the International Climbing Federation.

In order to ensure its quality, the test event will follow the standards of the Asian Games. Additionally, the national speed climbing records will be officially recognized and certified during the event.

The Yangshan Sport Climbing Center, where this championship will be held, is the designated venue for the climbing events of the Hangzhou Asian Games. The design of the venue was inspired by a silkworm cocoon, a cultural symbol of the silk industry in Jiangnan (south of the Yangtze River, in its lower reaches) water towns.
