More than 20 expats visited the Keqiao Yangshan Sport Climbing Center in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province on March 31.
The trip was organized by the municipal publicity department of Shaoxing with the aim of letting these expats experience sport climbing at a venue for the upcoming Asian Games Hangzhou.
The design of the venue was inspired by a silkworm cocoon, a cultural symbol of the silk industry in Jiangnan water towns.

"I always love sports, especially climbing," said Alex White, a foreign teacher who has been living in Shaoxing for seven years. He said he treats Shaoxing as a home away from home and looks forward to the upcoming event.
The expats will continue to enter Shaoxing's Asian Games venues to carry out Asian Games promotion activities.
Shaoxing is the co-host city that will host the most events of the Hangzhou Asian Games. The city has five Asian Games venues: the Keqiao Yangshan Sport Climbing Center, the Shaoxing Baseball & Softball Sports Center, the Shaoxing Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, the China Textile City Sports Center Gymnasium, and the Shaoxing Keqiao Jianhu Football Pitch.
