Annual tea-making competition held in Shaoxing

A tea-making competition was held in Guimen town, Shengzhou city, Shaoxing on March 18.
Over 10 contestants, many of whom have over 30 years of experience in tea-making, were invited to participate in the competition. The judges evaluated the tea based on factors such as appearance, aroma, and taste.
The competition has been held annually to improve tea quality, establish tea brands, promote tea industry development, and increase farmers' incomes.
The local government said the competition brought together tea experts from different regions to exchange techniques and ideas. The event also provided the public with an opportunity to appreciate the art of tea-making.
Guimen town has abundant tea resources and a long history of tea cultivation. Tea is the main industry in the township, which produced over 200 million yuan ($29.21 million) worth of tea in 2022.
