Shaoxing to boost foreign trade
Shaoxing in East China's Zhejiang province is aiming to achieve an annual import and export volume worth 500 billion yuan (about $73.24 billion) before 2025, said Shi Huifang, mayor of Shaoxing during a recent interview.
"This year's plan is to organize 150 delegations and 1,000 enterprises to attend overseas fairs, and provide subsidies that cover 50 percent of the booth costs," Shi said.
"We have set up a market procurement and cargo collection warehouse, which is free of charge and provides convenience for enterprises before entering customs," Shi added.
In 2022, the city's total import and export value reached 369.193 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 23.34 percent.
In 2023, the municipal bureau of commerce will establish a "quick tax refund channel" and promote on-site verification for export tax refunds and exemptions. The average processing time for export tax refunds has been reduced from 1.53 working days to 1 day.
