Spring harvest of Longjing tea begins in Xinchang
The spring harvest of Dafo Longjing tea leaves has begun in Xinchang county, Shaoxing, East China's Zhejiang, local media reported on March 9.
Xinchang is known as the "hometown of famous Chinese tea" thanks to its fertile soil, sweet mountain spring water, and unique misty atmosphere.
The Xinchang county government has in recent years developed a tea industry that encompasses every aspect of tea production, from seed breeding to machine development, packaging, preservation, marketing, culture, and tourism.
In 2022, the total tea output in Xinchang was 5,835.22 tons and the primary industry output value was more than 1.4 billion yuan ($200.7 million). The output of Dafo Longjing tea leaves was 5,262 tons and worth 1.28 billion yuan.
