29 projects worth $12 billion break ground in Shaoxing
Shaoxing in East China's Zhejiang province announced the commencement of 29 major projects with a total investment of 76.9 billion yuan ($12 billion) on Feb 21.
The announcement was made during the province-wide launch of the "Effective Investment Expansion of Major Projects" campaign held by the provincial government.
The projects cover various sectors, including advanced manufacturing, transportation, clean energy, urban renewal, and culture and tourism.
The investments have been classified into five categories based on the amount of funding, with one project receiving over 10 billion yuan in funding and three projects receiving 5-10 billion yuan.
The projects are spread across all districts and counties of the city, with eight projects in Yuecheng district, seven in Keqiao district, three in Shangyu district, six in Zhuji county-level city, two in Shengzhou county-level city, and three in Xinchang county.
One of the most notable projects that have already commenced is the 11.39-billion-yuan project to upgrade and expand the 104 National Highway from Donghu street, Yuecheng district, to Shangyu district. The 35.4-kilometer-long road will connect the two districts and help develop a seamless citywide road network by 2026.
The city has already initiated six projects respectively funded by Zhejiang Construction Investment New Materials, Tiansheng Chemical Fiber, China-Japan-Korea Semiconductor, Natrium New Energy, and Zhuji People's Hospital.
