A delegation of business representatives from over 60 Keqiao textile firms participated in the 26th Apparel Sourcing Paris and Texworld Paris, which was hosted at the Paris-Le Bourget Exhibition Centre in France from Feb 6 to 8.

The delegation was organized by the local commerce bureau of Keqiao district in Shaoxing, East China’s Zhejiang province with the aim of securing more business orders from overseas customers.

Connections were forged between Keqiao exhibitors and companies from France, the UK, and Spain.

One of the exhibitors from Keqiao is Zhejiang Fantasy International Trading Co Ltd, which focuses on the development and sales of knitted fabrics. Last year, exports of the company, which sells its products to over 80 countries and regions across the world, reached 1.88 billion yuan ($276 million), up 11.4 percent year-on-year.

Bao Haifeng, the sales manager of the firm, described the fair as an ideal platform for showcasing their products and connecting with more potential partners.

The local commerce authorities of Keqiao recently started a campaign encouraging firms to expand their business presence by participating in various international fairs.

The local commerce bureau has also rolled out a series of measures to promote and stabilize the district’s foreign trade. These measures include setting up a public overseas warehouse, expanding imports and introducing more high-quality foreign trade firms.
