A Shaoxing-based drone company, Geek Bridge International Co, has been providing lighting drones to aid rescue efforts in Turkiye following the devastating earthquake that occurred on Feb 6.
The lighting drones have been used to illuminate the disaster zone at night. Each drone, which is equipped with a small generator and can operate for more than 10 hours, can light up an area of 8,000 square meters.
The founder of the company, Hu Kefei, said that a Turkish customer had purchased the drone before the earthquake and has been using it to assist with rescue efforts. The customer also said he is satisfied with the product and is looking to purchase more.
Hu later provided two drones for free to the Turkish rescue team before donating over 10 more to rescue teams in China.
