Yuecheng district included on list of happiest districts

Yuecheng district in Shaoxing, East China's Zhejiang province, was included on the list of happiest districts in China released at the Happy Cities of China Forum 2022, which was held in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang, on Dec 21, 2022.

The forum was co-hosted by Oriental Outlook, a weekly magazine of Xinhua News Agency and Outlook Think Tank.

The survey of happiest cities in China has been conducted for the past 16 years, having recognized more than 80 happy cities in total.

The organizer of the survey examined nine first-level indexes, including employment, residents incomes, life quality, environment, education, transportation and medical services, and over 100 second-level indexes.

Following a number of evaluations, Yuecheng was recognized as one of the happiest districts in China. Other lists, such as the happiest cities and happiest cities for entrepreneurs, were also unveiled.

Yuecheng district boasts an outstanding business environment and a thriving private sector. It is home to 1,615 companies above designated size (20 million yuan ($2.84 million) in annual revenue).

The district has 11 listed firms and 448 national high-tech firms, and over the past three years it has attracted more than 180 billion yuan in investment.
