The Western Returned Scholars Association (WRSA) Overseas Returnees Town was unveiled at the 2023 Conference on High-quality Development of Aerospace and Intelligent Vision, which was held in Zhuji, a county-level city under the administration of Shaoxing, East China's Zhejiang province, on Jan 3.

Ding Zhongli, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and president of the WRSA, and Qiu Qiwen, a member of the standing committee of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, unveiled the town's plaque at a ceremony.

The Overseas Returnees Town is expected to draw on the strength of skilled workers of the WRSA to promote local high-quality development, said Sheng Yuechun, top official of Shaoxing.

Sheng said that Shaoxing has prioritized the development of aerospace and intelligent vision, and hopes that more skilled workers from overseas will come start businesses in the city.

The town, which is located in Zhuji Sci-Tech City, will focus on research of aerospace equipment and intelligent vision. Its ultimate aim is to provide a wide range of services for skilled workers.
