Shaoxing firms travel to Dubai to secure business orders
A delegation of business representatives organized by the Shaoxing commerce bureau flew to Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, to obtain more overseas orders on Dec 15.
The delegation, which consists of businessmen from 20 Shaoxing firms involved in textiles, daily necessities and hardware, is bound for the 13th China (UAE) Trade Fair. In addition, over 40 firms chose to have other agencies take part in the fair on their behalf.
Due to uncertainties brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic and global inflation, foreign trade firms in Shaoxing have faced a lack of business orders.
The local government has been working to stabilize foreign trade by issuing policy packages.
From January to November, the city's imports and exports reached 338.38 billion yuan ($48.56 billion), a year-on-year increase of 25.6 percent.
Specifically, exports stood at 311.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 25.8 percent, higher than the growth rate of other cities in Zhejiang.
Officials from the Shaoxing commerce bureau said that they will continue to step up efforts to support foreign trade firms in trade cooperation.
