Shaoxing rolls out incentives for Spring Festival
Shaoxing in East China's Zhejiang province recently unveiled a raft of measures to encourage non-local workers to spend the upcoming Spring Festival in the city.
The rollout of these measures comes as part of the local government's efforts to stabilize the production capacity of local companies at the beginning of the next year.
Non-local employees who stay put during the Spring Festival, for example, can be granted 800 yuan ($114) in cash, as well as discounted admission tickets to local scenic spots.
Companies who hire people to come work in Shaoxing for the first time and have paid the social security insurance for more than three months will be granted at least 250 yuan per person.
Authorities have also promised to cover 70 percent of fees incurred in transporting non-local employees back to work by chartered buses.
Those who have sought jobs in the city on their own will have their travel expenses - capped at 500 yuan –covered by the government.
Human resource agencies will also be granted 500-800 yuan per person if they help companies recruit more than five employees.
