The steel structures of Lusail Stadium and Education City Stadium in Qatar were constructed by Jinggong Steel International in Keqiao district, Shaoxing, local media reported on Dec 9.
The golden bowl-shaped 80,000-seat Lusail Stadium will stage 10 matches during this year's World Cup, the most for any stadium during this tournament.
The steel structure consumption of Lusail Stadium is about 30,000 tons. The steel structure was divided into 48 V-column trusses, 24 pressure ring trusses, and 48 curtain wall trusses, according to Xing Zunshen, Jinggong Steel International's project manager of Lusail Stadium.
With high temperatures and humidity in Qatar, coupled with exacting building standards, construction of the stadium has not been easy, he added.
Since the start of construction in April 2018, the company had sent three experts, more than 70 on-site management personnel, and more than 1,000 workers to the project.
Established in 1999, the Shaoxing company currently runs six modernized factories in Zhejiang, Anhui, Hubei, Guangdong provinces and Shanghai, and has over 7,000 employees.
