Shaoxing achieves steady economic growth in Jan-Jul

Shaoxing in East China's Zhejiang province recorded positive economic growth in the January-July period, according to a recently released report by local authorities.
The report shows that the added value of industrial enterprises above a designated size -- those with an annual income of more than 20 million yuan ($2.89 million) -- reached 123.9 billion yuan during the period, a year-on-year rise of 9.4 percent.
The city's key industries such as computing communication, electronics equipment manufacturing and pharmaceuticals also recorded notable growth during the seven months.
Meanwhile, the imports and exports of Shaoxing reached 208.3 billion yuan, up by 31.8 percent year-on-year, during this period.
The city's exports to Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership member countries and countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative grew by 43.7 percent and 38.7 percent year-on-year respectively.
The retail sales of consumer goods in Shaoxing in the Jan-Jul period totaled 142.8 billion yuan, increasing by 2 percent from a year ago.
New energy vehicles sales in Shaoxing during the period increased by 318.3 percent year-on-year.
