The competition for the primary and middle school groups of the 2022 Chinese Debate World Cup and the Anchang Teenager Thoughts Festival concluded in Ancheng Ancient Town, Shaoxing, East China's Zhejiang province, on Aug 8.
The event was hosted by the government of Keqiao district in Shaoxing and the organizing committee of the Chinese Debate World Cup.
More than 500 contestants from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Malaysia participated in the event and debated about topics including diplomatic relations, laws and finance.
The Chinese Debate World Cup, which was initiated in 2012, now includes four competition categories - university, high school, middle school and primary school. The university group competition has drawn contestants from more than 600 universities and colleges in 15 countries and regions.
In June, the organizing committee of the Chinese Debate World Cup announced Anchang as the permanent competition venue for the event.
