Shaoxing's foreign trade up 28.6% in H1
Shaoxing in East China's Zhejiang province saw its import and export value hit 1.69 trillion yuan ($250.74 billion) from January to June, up 28.6 percent year-on-year, according to Shaoxing Customs on July 20.
The exports were valued at 1.56 trillion yuan, up 30.1 percent year-on-year. About 53.2 percent of the exports came from the textile industry.
An official at the provincial department of commerce said, "Zhejiang rallied significantly because of the raft of extraordinary policy measures that have been implemented, which helped stabilize business expectations."
In addition to arranging chartered business flights and increasing the number of scheduled flights, the authorities in Zhejiang have announced a package of policy initiatives, which include helping businesspeople enter and leave China, and organizing overseas trade exhibitions.
The provincial policies can help Shaoxing's export value keep a double-digit growth in the second half, said an official at Shaoxing Customs.
