Shaoxing's statistics bureau recently delivered its economic report for the first quarter of 2022.

The city's GDP totaled 161 billion yuan ($23.94 billion), up 5.3 percent year-on-year, 0.5 percentage points higher than the national average.

Shaoxing's retail sales of social consumption goods during this period amounted to 62.1 billion yuan, a jump of 5.3 percent year-on-year.

Shaoxing's imports and exports in the first quarter were valued at 75.3 billion yuan, up 33.8 percent year-on-year.

The city's overall per capita disposable income in the first quarter increased by 6.5 percent to 21,564 yuan. The growths of disposable income of urban and rural residents were 5.9 percent and 7.4 percent respectively.
