Xie Zhenye, the 200-meter Asian record holder, is currently undergoing a winter training session in the United States.
He sped to another milestone at last summer's Tokyo Olympics where he became the first Chinese to qualify for a 200m semifinals at the Olympic Games.
Xie, who missed out on the Jakarta 2018 Asian Games, will go all out to achieve his Asian Games targets, said Wang Shun, Xie's coach.
Olympic swimming duo He Junyi and Wu Qingfeng, both Shaoxing natives, will also compete in the upcoming Asian Games.
Zhao Meihua, who coaches the two swimmers, said He has been training in Shaoxing's Shangyu district despite the COVID-19 outbreak and Wu is now under medical quarantine in Guangdong after competing at the 15th FINA World Swimming Championships.
"We will do whatever is needed to help our athletes unleash their full strength," said a staff member of the municipal sports bureau.
Shaoxing athletes won nine gold medals, nine silver medals, and eight bronze medals at the 14th National Games, which concluded in Xi'an, Shaanxi province on Sept 27, 2021.
