Zhejiang unveiled a service platform for global investment during the 2021 China (Zhejiang) International Digital Economy Summit, which was held in Shanghai on Nov 5 on the sidelines of the ongoing fourth China International Import Expo.

The conference was attended by over 170 enterprises, including Fortune Global 500 companies like Siemens, Microsoft, and IBM, as well as 120 Zhejiang companies involved in the digital economy and high-tech sectors.

The newly released service platform will enable multinational enterprises to obtain information related to Zhejiang's economic and technological development zones, as well as industrial parks. It will also provide access to data related to local industrial chains, as well as allow users to enjoy one-stop investment services from business negotiation and registration to production, according to Sheng Qiuping, head of the Zhejiang provincial department of commerce.

As one of the provinces with the highest level of openness in China, Zhejiang has emerged as a haven for global investment.

A total of 2,769 foreign-funded enterprises set up a business presence in Zhejiang in the first three quarters of this year, an increase of 52.4 percent year-on-year.

The province's actual use of foreign investment increased 21 percent year-on-year to $14.47 billion, ranking fifth in China and accounting for 11.2 percent of the nation's total during the nine-month period.

The amount also made up 90.4 percent of the target pre-set by local authorities for this year.

Yu Heng, managing director of Linde Asia Pacific Engineering Co Ltd, praised Zhejiang's business environment, noting that talents and funds in the province are very beneficial to enterprise development.

The German company has established a device digitalization center in Zhejiang.
