Shaoxing celebrates one-year countdown to Asian Games

Shaoxing in East China's Zhejiang province celebrated the one-year countdown to the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 at Shaoxing Olympic Sports Center on Sept 10.

Apart from the host city of Hangzhou, Shaoxing will host the largest number of events during the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games. The city proposed the goal of becoming a popular choice for international sports events in 2018.

Representatives of the municipal government thanked all of the parties who have been participating in the preparation work and said that the city is confident that they will be ready to host the competition, which kicks off in one year.

In 2019, the city hosted 21 international and 60 national sports events. In 2020, the city hosted the 2020-21 Chinese Basketball Association season.

The 19th Asian Games, which is scheduled to be held from Sept 10 to 25, 2022, will feature 40 sports, 61 disciplines, and 482 events that will be contested in 55 competition venues across Zhejiang.
