Cross-border e-commerce prospers in Shangyu
The cross-border e-commerce industry is developing fast in Shangyu district, East China's Shaoxing province, local media reported on Aug 12.
"Our sales revenue from cross-border commerce exceeded $15 million, accounting for 10 percent of the total sales of our US branches," said Huang Hongwen, staff member of Shangyu-based Yankon Lighting.
"We have a 21-person e-commerce team in the US and the current monthly sales revenue is about $1.75 million," Huang added.
All the team members received training at the Shangyu Cross-border E-commerce- Incubation Park, which is an authorized training base for the district's e-commerce talents, according to the commerce bureau of Shangyu.
Since June 2019, the park has organized 10 long-term trainings, over 200 short-term trainings, and incubated over 120 e-commerce companies. "As of the end of 2020, over 30 companies that were incubated here realized a sales revenue of $100,000," said Zhou Quan, a staff member of the park.
In 2020, Shangyu rolled out 18 preferential policies and granted 5.24 million yuan ($810,000) in subsidies to boost the industry, said a director of the bureau. "Incubating cross-border e-commerce is vital to upgrading our foreign trade," he added.
