Shaoxing GDP up 13.7% in H1
The GDP of Shaoxing in East China's Zhejiang province reached 318.9 billion yuan ($49.27 billion), up 13.7 percent year-on-year, according to the municipal statistics bureau on July 30.
"The stellar figure maintained its momentum in the first quarter," said a staff member of the statistics bureau. "Most industries are seeing sharp rebounds."
The added values of the primary, secondary, and tertiary industries grew by 3.2 percent, 17.3 percent, and 11.5 percent year-on-year, respectively.
In the first half of the year, Shaoxing's total retail sales of social consumer goods climbed by 14.5 percent year-on-year to around 121 billion yuan.
The imports and exports were valued at 131.8 billion yuan, up 25.4 percent year-on-year.
The per capita disposable income of local residents hit 34,611 yuan, up 13.8 percent year-on-year.
Shaoxing's economy is expected to keep up the momentum in the second half of the year "as the city further upgrades its industrial structure with a digitalization reform and market entities become more active", according to local authorities.
