The popularization training of senior citizens' daily use of smart devices and services will be included in Shaoxing's elderly education, local media reported on Feb 27.

About 35,000 senior citizens will have taken part in short-term training sessions and 1,000 seniors will have participated in long-term sessions by the end of 2021.

The use of smart devices brings convenience and happiness to the elderly in buying tickets, hailing taxis, and having video chats.

From this year, the city will carry out training programs in adult schools, vocational schools, and elderly universities.

Given that the elderly' learning ability is weak, the programs will focus on their needs and develop a dialect edition to increase their participation rate.

It was reported at least 15 educational videos and six textbooks will be designed. The good ones will be promoted to other cities.
