In the heat of July, workers in Wangjiangjing town, Jiaxing, are busy loading textile equipment into containers bound for Karachi, Pakistan. Osama Asif, a Pakistani businessman fluent in Chinese, oversees the process. This year marks his seventh year in Jiaxing, where he exports Chinese silk threads and equipment to Pakistan, India, and other countries.
Osama's connection to Jiaxing began with his father's textile business in the city in 2003. To maintain and grow this bond, Osama studied in Beijing and then moved to Jiaxing, continuing his family's legacy. He believes that "choice is more important than effort", and Jiaxing's location and robust textile industry make it the ideal base for his business.
Jiaxing's stable product quality and large output have helped Osama's business grow from handling over 100 containers to more than 1,000 annually. He supplies equipment and raw materials to Pakistani manufacturers, meeting diverse market demands. High-tech and eco-friendly materials are also key to his future business plans.
Osama's life in Jiaxing is rich and fulfilling. He enjoys exploring the countryside with family and friends, and has become well-integrated into the local community. The birth of his son, Zain, in Jiaxing has further strengthened his bond with the city. For Osama, Jiaxing is not just a business hub but a warm, welcoming home where his dreams and family thrive.
