At approximately 1,000 meters above sea level, Gaolao Mountain boasts over 666 hectares of both wild and cultivated azalea fields, comprising more than 100 varieties. The peak blooming season spans from late April to early May annually.

To enhance the experience, Panfeng township has set up an ancient-style walkway and other photo spots, as well as refurbished the area to better accommodate tourists.

Gaolao Mountain's inclusion in the national recommended routes underscores the seamless integration of tourism and meteorology services. Using flower blooming forecasts and climate comfort metrics, the Pan'an meteorological bureau gives visitors precise travel guidance, enriching their encounters during the upcoming May Day holiday.
