The 137th China Import and Export Fair began in Guangzhou on April 15 with a record-setting 74,000 booths across 55 exhibition zones, attracting buyers from over 220 countries and regions, with Zhejiang province contributing over 15,000 standout booths.

Zhejiang's lineup includes more than 3,100 companies with top-tier credentials — national "little giants", provincial-level "specialized and innovative" enterprises, and high-tech leaders.

"Canton Fair is our testing ground for new products," said Fang Yunxiang, a representative of Zhejiang Universal Machinery Co, a nationally recognized high-tech firm. This year, the company is debuting a smart diesel light tower with a lithium battery module to boost energy efficiency.

In the face of global trade uncertainties, Zhejiang companies are diversifying markets. "We don't put all our eggs in one basket," said He Lieping, general manager of Zhejiang Fairtrade E-Commerce Co. The firm now serves customers in over 100 countries and is showcasing 42 booths at the fair, covering kitchenware, outdoor furniture, and more.

The Canton Fair serves as a bridge for companies from around the world to share China's development opportunities and achieve mutual benefits.

Zhejiang province recorded 1.29 trillion yuan ($176.78 billion) in total foreign trade in the first quarter of 2025, a year-on-year increase of 7.3 percent, according to recent data from Hangzhou Customs.
