Ningbo's trade with Vietnam showed stable growth in the first two months of 2025, with total imports and exports reaching 5.92 billion yuan ($811.7 million), a 10.1 percent increase compared to the previous year.

Private enterprises played a key role in driving this expansion, contributing 3.95 billion yuan to the total trade volume, up 15.7 percent year-on-year. Vietnam's thriving furniture industry has fueled demand for textile yarns and synthetic fiber materials from Ningbo.

During January and February, Ningbo exported 390 million yuan worth of textile yarns, fabrics, and related products, marking a 33.2 percent increase from the same period last year.

Leading chemical fiber manufacturer Ningbo Dafa Chemical Fiber has maintained strong business ties with Vietnam, supplying materials for furniture padding and bedding. From January to March, the company exported 26.05 million yuan worth of products to Vietnam, demonstrating stable trade activity.

Vietnam's humid climate provides favorable conditions for natural rubber, making it a key spot for Ningbo importers. Ningbo's imports from Vietnam totaled 1.49 billion yuan, with mechanical and electronic products accounting for 550 million yuan and natural and synthetic rubber, including latex, reaching 420 million yuan.
