Ningbo airport launches faster entry process for intl travelers
Ningbo Lishe International Airport in Ningbo has launched a self-service entry registration system for international travelers, making the process faster and more convenient for those arriving in the city.
Previously, foreign nationals had to fill out paper entry forms upon arrival, which often led to long wait times due to limited workspace. With the new system, travelers can now simply scan a QR code with their smartphones before or after their flight, streamlining the entry process and reducing waiting times.
"The new system is incredibly convenient," said an Austrian traveler, "Before, I had to fill out the form by hand, which was prone to mistakes. Now, I just scan the QR code, and my entry card is printed in 15 seconds. It's much faster and more accurate."
The self-service devices offer several ways to submit registration details, including QR codes and mini-programs. They support six languages: English, Japanese, Korean, German, French, and Spanish, making it accessible to a wide range of international visitors.
For travelers who haven't registered online before their flight, they can still use the devices at the arrival hall to quickly complete their registration and print the entry card.
Additionally, the airport is working on an "autofill mode" that allows passengers to store their personal information for future use. Once available, travelers will be able to generate their entry cards with a single click on future visits, further speeding up the process.
"This system will greatly reduce waiting times and improve the efficiency of border checks," said Lyu Bin, head of the border inspection department at Ningbo airport, "It will make the process much more convenient for foreign visitors coming to Ningbo for tourism, business, or family visits."
