The Taizhou Food Tour Exhibition and Shabu New Year Goods Fair took place at Shabu Old Street in Huangyan district, Taizhou, Zhejiang province, from Jan 10 to 12.
This event captivated a multitude of residents and tourists, drawing them to the essence of the Chinese New Year's festive atmosphere.
The fair featured a variety of delicious specialties, such as the Shabu dried bean curd, taros, and sticky rice cakes, all of which tantalized the taste buds.
Symbolizing prosperity with each passing year, the New Year rice cake took center stage at a restaurant, where chefs transformed ordinary rice cakes into a feast of carps, pigs, and chickens.
Themed around diverse gourmet food and Spring Festival activities, the event combined shopping, entertainment, and culture with over 50 specialty booths, 16 common prosperity workshop booths, five tradition-experience areas, and one gaming zone.
The event also carried a cultural taste, enriching the festive lives of attendees with traditional customs and interactive experiences. Residents took home New Year couplets and the character for "fortune" written by calligraphers.
To further promote rural vitalization and boost local sales, Shabu town organized live-streaming to sell agricultural products, which drove sales of almost 30,000 yuan ($4,090) in just two hours.
