Ningbo Lishe International Airport in Zhejiang province reported a record passenger volume of over 14 million as of Dec 11, surpassing its previous annual high.
This follows a milestone on Nov 12, when passenger volume exceeded 12.94 million, topping last year's total. The airport also processed 159,000 metric tons of cargo and managed 103,000 flights.
An airport representative said marketing efforts now integrate digital strategies with traditional advertising to better reach target audiences.
According to the representative, the airport expanded its network by adding new international routes to Ho Chi Minh City and Kuala Lumpur and more domestic flights to commercial hubs such as Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
The airport also plans to enhance transfer services and improve operational efficiency to support regional growth.
Civil airports in Zhejiang have handled over 80 million passengers this year, as announced by the Zhejiang Provincial Airport Group on Dec 9.
From January to November, the passenger throughput across the province reached 78.09 million, ranking fifth nationwide. The annual total is expected to exceed 84 million.
Zhejiang Provincial Airport Group anticipates significant growth by 2027 when the province's airports will handle over 100 million passengers and 1.5 million metric tons of cargo annually.
