The "Warm Stories" Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition, showcasing five Ningo intangible cultural heritage jewels, will grace the halls of the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing from Aug 8 to 25.

This mesmerizing showcase dives deep into the city's vibrant cultural roots, spotlighting iconic traditions such as Ten-Mile Red Dowry wedding customs, a practice that embodies the vibrant folklore of eastern Zhejiang and dates back to the Southern Song Dynasty (). It also highlights masterpieces of craftsmanship like Gold Lacquer Wood Carving, Mud-Gold Colored Paint Lacquer, Gold and Silver Embroidery, and Bone and Wood Inlay, collectively known as the "Three Golds and One Inlay", which represent the pinnacle of Ningbo's artistic endeavors.

The masterpiece of this exhibition, wangongjiao, a sedan chair crafted using the Gold Lacquer Wood Carving technique, is a prized possession of the Zhejiang Provincial Museum. The art piece symbolizes not only the splendor of Ningbo's wedding traditions but also the remarkable craftsmanship and artistry of its intangible cultural heritage.

After entering the venue, visitors will be guided through the Ten-Mile Red Dowry and experience wedding customs and folk craftsmanship as they are immersed in the magnificent world of traditional folk art in Ningbo.

The exhibition design aims for innovation and breakthroughs. With vibrant red and other joyful colors, it exudes a festive atmosphere and a strong cultural sentiment. Drawing inspiration from the "coffered ceiling" architectural design of Ningbo's Baoguo Temple, the layout of the exhibition hall brings Ningbo's ancient architectural cultural symbols to the exhibition scene.

The exhibition will further enrich the experience with a retrospective display, engaging seminars, live performances celebrating Ningbo's intangible heritage, and interactive experiences that allow visitors to step into the world of Ningbo's timeless traditions.
