Global summit delves into cross-border electronic commerce

A global summit on cross-border e-commerce, themed the "Tide of Qiantang River", took place in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province on Dec 21 and 22.
Centered on new trends, new patterns, new rules and new opportunities for the development of cross-border e-commerce, the summit invited guests from different sectors to analyze the current market, share good experiences and seek joint efforts across one plenary and six themed sessions during the two-day summit.
Liang Liming, vice governor of Zhejiang province, addressed the opening ceremony. "Cross-border e-commerce has been the new trend for the development of foreign trade. We need to further strengthen the connection between the government sector and enterprises to promote the rapid and orderly development of cross-border e-commerce."
Long Yongtu, former vice minister of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation gave a keynote speech to share his analysis of four major changes in global trade patterns. He also extended his confidence to China's cross-border e-commerce and expressed his expectations for closer cooperation among different sectors to boost the development of global cross-border e-commerce and to improve China's competitiveness.
