A group of four Indonesian mariners working in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, visited Xinjian village in Dinghai district to explore its cultural charm and natural beauty.
A highlight of their visit was the village's rural art gallery, where vibrant and uniquely conceived Zhoushan fisherman's paintings caught their attention. With the help of a translator, they got an insight into the artworks' styles. The visitors even tried their hand at painting a boat themselves.

At the Xinjian village, they also experienced making the Zhoushan qingbing – a green sticky snack traditionally eaten around Qingming Festival. They used a wooden mallet to pound the mugwort-infused glutinous rice dough and pressed it into molds.
Among the visitors, 22-year-old Geraldy quickly learned the craft. He said this was his first time tasting such a delicacy and appreciated the unique flavor.
He was impressed by Dinghai's traditional culture, including its cuisine and natural beauty. He said he was eager to share these fascinating experiences with the people of Indonesia.
