A smart screen at Shulanghu Terminal in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province, showed that the terminal's unloading volume for the month had reached 4.19 million metric tons as of Aug 31, setting a new monthly record for the terminal.
The terminal's throughput for the month totaled 7.76 million tons, an 11.2 percent increase year-on-year.
The terminal has provided hot berthing services for different types of vessels, reducing non-operational time for international ships. The 400,000-ton ore carriers are now regularly able to depart within two days of docking, and Capesize vessels are often able to do so within one day.
In August, the terminal achieved an average daily shipment volume exceeding 120,000 tons.
In August, the terminal's equipment operated without failure for over 60 days. Leveraging the new advantages of full-process bulk cargo automation, automated ship unloaders were able to unload more than 2.75 million tons of cargo, accounting for more than 80 percent of the total and marking a month-on-month increase of over 20 percent. The total process operation volume reached 6.45 million tons, an 11 percent month-on-month increase.
Additionally, the terminal has successfully implemented remote-controlled unmanned cleaning operations multiple times, reducing the average cleaning time by 0.5 hours and steadily improving operational efficiency.
