The 4th Zhejiang Marine Games commenced in Shengsi county, Zhouzhan, Zhejiang province on May 18.

The quadrennial sports extravaganza, which will run until June 16, features 14 competitive events and one exhibition event, including road cycling, beach volleyball, soccer, surfing, and open water swimming.

Over 7,000 attendees participated in the opening ceremony, which included an array of cultural festivities and a diverse range of sea-based experiential activities.

The event was launched in 2011, with the previous three editions being held in Zhoushan's Daishan county, Putuo district, and Taizhou, respectively.

The event plays a crucial role in showcasing Zhoushan's marine resources and advancing the in-depth integration of marine sports, maritime culture, and marine tourism, according to authorities.
